FAQ

Q1: I need both puncture resistance and static dissipation. Can a Kevlar midsole do that?

A1: The Kevlar midsole itself is not electrically conductive, but it can work in conjunction with anti-static (SD) or conductive (CD) sole materials. You need to choose a style where the entire shoe is certified as either SD (static dissipative) or CD (conductive).

Q2: Is a Kevlar midsole susceptible to fire or high heat?

A2: Kevlar fiber has high heat resistance and flame retardancy, and its decomposition temperature is far higher than the temperatures commonly encountered in working environments. However, continuous exposure to open flames or extremely high temperatures (such as the direct high temperatures generated by welding or cutting) will eventually damage it. For typical high-temperature workshops, it is sufficiently safe.

Q3: Is Nubuck waterproof? Does it need waterproofing treatment?

A3: Untreated nubuck leather is not waterproof and is very sensitive to water stains.

Q4: Do Kevlar midsoles feel much softer and more flexible than steel?

A4: Yes, the comfort level is a significant improvement. The steel sole is a rigid plate, while Kevlar is a flexible layer, which greatly reduces fatigue when wearing them.

Q5: Are Nubuck safety shoes suitable for year-round wear?

A5: It's very suitable. Its natural leather properties give it excellent temperature adaptability: breathable and sweat-wicking in summer; and providing a certain degree of warmth in winter (especially when paired with a warm lining). After waterproofing treatment, it can also handle the damp weather of spring and autumn. It's a truly versatile, all-season shoe upper material.
